New Pier 26 dog run slated to open in Tribeca by August 5th

[UPDATE August 5th: The Pier 26 dog run is now open!] Tribeca is getting a new dog run, and it looks to be one of the most modern looking ones in New York City.  The brand new Pier 26 dog run in the Tribeca segment of Hudson River Park is slated to open by July 31st August 5th, according to a spokesperson at the Hudson River Park Trust. It will be the largest of all of the Hudson River Park dog runs and features umbrellas for shade, and a water fountain that the dogs can play in.

It’s part of a larger Pier 26 complex that will have lawns, an Estuarium, a restaurant, and outdoor concerts. You can find Pier 26 between North Moore Street and Hubert Street on the far west side of Manhattan in Hudson River Park. The dog run is right in front by the bike path. At nearby Pier 25, there is also a kid’s playground that is being restored after being damaged in Hurricane Sandy.
