Feeders

PetSafe Premier Busy Buddy Kibble Nibble Dog Toy
Does your dog eat down his/her food in seconds? This interactive feeder makes them have to work for their food by pushing the feeder around the room to get kibble (or treats) to fall out of one of the holes. This slows down the eating process, and uses up both mental and physical energy to have a meal. Very good for high-energy dogs that were originally part of the herding, hunting, or working breeds.

PetSafe Premier Busy Buddy Tug-A-Jug
Here is another feeder that requires your dog to work for their meal. This one requires even more mental energy because it involves a rope knot that will block the feeding hole if pulled too tight or pushed too far in. Your dog will have to both tip the bottle and make sure the rope is not blocking the opening. Again great for high-energy dogs that were originally part of the herding, hunting, or working breeds.

Jardin Dog Pet Collapsible Fabric Travel Food Water Bowl
Need a collapsible water bowl for travel and hikes? There are many options here but this one is fabric for easy storage. Consider harder collapsible bowl if your dog chews fabric (ex. Dexas Popware for Pets Travel Cup/Bowl with Bottle Holder).

The FURminator
If your dog (or cat) sheds, the Furminator does a great job of getting out all of that extra fur before it hits your furniture, rugs, and clothing. The metal comb may look tough, but we use this on both our border collie mix and a small and gentle cat, and they both don’t mind at all. We are amazed how much fur comes off of them – you could probably knit a sweater! Note, if your dog is sensitive, try a wood pin brush instead.

Premier Easy Walk Dog Harness
If your dog is inclined to pull, the Easy Walk harness attaches across the chest (and not the front of the neck), so it won’t cause choking or coughing like other collars can do. Also, other harnesses that attach in the back can actually cause dogs to pull harder, but this is attached to a ring on the front of the chest, and so when they pull, it actually pulls them back towards you (which can be helpful to get their attention for a command). If you are having issues with pulling, certainly consult a dog trainer as that behavior can be fixed through positive methods, but the Easy Walk harness is a nice thing to have to start to safely curb the behavior.

The Buddy System – Hands Free Leash
This leash lets you walk or jog with your hands free, and attaches to a belt around your waist. People use it for walking, hiking and even running!
